INSTALLING THE TRANSLATORS
================================
Before using the image browsers you will first need to install the translators that are included with the program. Start the installation by clicking on the Expert Install Me First icon and then clicking the Easy Install option. You will need to restart the computer so that the changes can take effect.
NOTE: On some computers, double-clicking on an image thumbnail will only render a small image preview instead of the larger preview. If this is the case, please install the additional translators with the program. To do this, simply click on the Additional Translators icon on the Photo CD disk and follow the prompts on the screen. Restart your computer so that the changes can take effect.

USING THE IMAGE BROWSERS
=============================
The images on the CD are divided into groups and cataloged for your convenience. They enable you to find images quicker, view details about them, and pick and choose images without having to constantly view their larger counterparts. To view a catalog simply click on the Browsers icon and click on the appropriate icon for the category which you would like to preview.
Once in the browser you will be presented with the images pertaining to that particular subject with their respective filenames below them. The number of images in the catalog is displayed in the bottom left. Double-clicking on an image will produce the full scale color image of it. To quit the large image simply close the window.
There are five buttons on the upper left hand corner of the browser screen. The first button from the left is the Small Gallery option. This shows only a small thumbnail without the filenames. Use this to view many images from the catalog at one time. The second button is the Gallery View. The Gallery View is the default view and shows more thumbnails with their respective filenames. The third button is the List View button which shows notes and information but only shows a few images vertically.
To search for an image through selective criteria such as its name or size, click on the Find button. Specify the criteria that you would like to search for and then click on Find. For a more detail specific search click on the Options button.
To view more detailed information on a thumbnail which interests you simply click on the thumbnail once and then click on the Info button.
To sort thumbnails by a certain criteria, bring down the Sort and choose the criteria which you would like the thumbnails presented.
The Image menu allows you to Display, Edit or Reveal the Original thumbnail image.
To print your catalog simply choose File-Print Catalog from the menu bar. Set up your printer by choosing File-Page Setup.
The Riffle feature lets you quickly fast forward and rewind through the images in a catalog. You can find the Riffle¬ control at the lower right hand corner of the Kudo¿ Browser¬ screen.
To Use the Riffle¬ Feature:
Ñ Click and hold the Riffle¬ control.
Ñ The lower right corner thumbnail just above the Riffle¬ control will display a sequence of thumbnails.
Ñ Drag the mouse left or right to control the speed and direction. Click the right end of the control to start moving through the catalog. Dragging the control to the right will move you forward through the catalog, while dragging it to the left will move you backwards.
Ñ When you see the image you want, release the mouse button.

PLACING IMAGES INTO OTHER PROGRAMS
===============================================
There are two ways to place images into other programs, onto all popular graphics applications such as Microsoft Word v2.0 and v6.0, PageMaker v4.2 and v5.0, QuarkXPress v3.1, v3.2 and v3.3 and Word Perfect v6.0.
The first is the Copy-Paste method. Select the thumbnail image from the Gallery or List View. Choose Edit-Copy to place the image into the clipboard. Open the target document and then choose its Edit-Paste menu options. The target application will paste the image from the clipboard onto the document.
NOTE: When you use the Copy command, the entire image is placed into the clipboard. Make sure you have enough RAM to support this action.
The second way to place an image into a document is by using the Drag and Drop method. Open up the target application and the Kudo¿ Browser¬ and tile them so both windows are both visible on the screen. Select the thumbnail image from the Gallery or List view. Click and hold the mouse button when selecting an image and then "drag" it onto the target application's open document. The image should "drop" into the application for further editing.
NOTE: If you are having problems Dragging and Dropping from your Kudo¿ Browser¬ your application may not support this operation.

INSTALLING FONTS

TO INSTALL TRUE TYPE FONTS ON YOUR SYSTEM:
1. Quit all running applications.
2. Insert the Holiday Clip Art CD into the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click on the MAC TrueType folder.
4. Shift-click on each font you wish to install and drag it over top of your System/Fonts

Ñ You do not have Graphic Converter, or
Ñ You double-click on an image icon, or
Ñ You choose Edit-Display Original from the Kudo¿ Browser¬.
THEN, the following error will appear:
" The Document xxxxxx.tif could not be opened because the application 'Graphic Converter' could not be found. "
We used the application Graphic Converter 1.7.9 to convert these images to Macintosh format. We do not include this application on the CD. You must open the images through a Paint or Draw program that reads .TIFF format images.
